Balance derived from a photo shoot. Karen (girlfriend) pointed out a photo and said you're going to write a song. I informed Karen I was a cover artist and do not write songs. Karen was persistent and said "you are going to write this song" and I asked what am I going to call it. She replied Balance because you are balancing on a railroad track. I asked what will the song be about. Karen replied you know, just life, balancing trials and tribulations, etc. I just laughed it off...
During lunch break at work, sitting in my truck, eating a sandwich the lyrics for Balance came to me. Karen had always told me I was a good man, so I sang out loud the first line of the song. "I know Im a good man" and I thought that sounds pretty good, grabbed an envelope from the passengers seat and wrote half the song. It's about Karen who bring balance to my life, since my wife of 39yrs took her own life, June 1,2019...
Tired Of The Rain : came from a phone call with a friend, who I had'nt spoke to in a while. I asked him how he was doing, his reply was, "I'm good, But Im Tired of the rain".(it had been raining for like 10 days straight). I told my friend hold on just a second, he asked "why"?, I said because you just gave me a Title to a song ! after we huing up, I had the COMPLETE SONG LYRIC's, with chords, in less than three hours ! Never done this before in my life !
Whiskey Drinkin & Wishful Thinkin : Gotta thank Tim Kelly for this one ! while listening to the TK show, he was Interviewing a country artist, on his Triple Play Thursday. During their conversation, they got on the topic of "WHISKEY DRINKIN", and were laughing at each others response, when the artist replied "THATS WISHFUL THINKIN". I needed to write a song for the Arkansas Country Music Awards, in the "Collaboration" awards selection. I sat down and wrote "my" part of this Song. I contacted Female Musician, Lindsey Watson (of The Mama Tried Band), who gladly added her part to the song...
